Crystal Cruises is already a power player in luxury tourism, but how is this for a bold new expansion plan – the company recently announced intentions to venture into river cruising, yachting and even flying, on top of innovative developments in their ocean liners. Kemplon Engineering takes a closer look at this exciting news.Crystal Cruises has been around since 1990, wowing fans of luxury travel with its modern ships, world-class atmosphere, exceptional customer service and destination-rich itineraries. In a constant drive for improvement though, the cruise line has seen many innovations over the decades. Among them, the Wine & Food Festival at Sea which debuted in 1996, the Computer University@Sea in 1997, partnerships with Berlitz®, Yamaha®, Cleveland Clinic and the Tai Chi Cultural Center, 2009’s Experiences of Discovery® voyages, and many more.
This month, the top-rated luxury line announced even bigger plans for an expansion. In the works are expanding with Crystal Yacht Cruises, which will begin late this year with Crystal Esprit, a 32-foot boat filled with dreamy water toys including a 2-person submarine; Crystal River Cruises via two luxury ships by the spring of 2017; and Crystal Luxury Air to be launched in 2017 via the acquisition and luxe conversion of a Boeing 787 set to go on trips all over the world. The line is also adding three all-suite ocean vessels scheduled for a 2018 debut, under the Crystal Executive Class of ships. The new vessels are intended to set the bar high with unprecedented space, expedition capabilities, and an innovative offer called Crystal Residences, which are like homes for sale at sea set on the top decks.
